Vocal and disco influences

I thought the disco arrangement of 'Here Comes The Night' was partly influenced by the song 'On And On And On' from ABBA, but looking at the year numbers it's the other way around! Then on wikipedia I even read about influences from 'Do It Again'. The main influence is of course the production by Bruce Johnston, who scored already a disco hit in 1977 with 'Pipeline'.

The song's chorus has a backing vocals arrangement clearly influenced by one of Benny Andersson's favorite bands, The Beach Boys, and in particular their 1968 hit "Do It Again". In 1981, Beach Boys member Mike Love returned the compliment by covering "On and On and On" on his solo album Looking Back with Love.
